Our Center is a 4,800 sq. ft. one story building which was at its’ inception in 1902 the Kent Mills Bank. The owners have tried to capture the original character of the design, which we feel is perfect for the group of consumers we are serving. The marble Wall Clock, elongated eyebrow windows, providing natural light and warmth, and the hardwood floors all contribute to the natural charm of our Center.
Our program area is a grouping of wide-open spaces consisting of a Main Activity Room, Library, Dining Room, Hair Salon, Shower Facilities, and fully equipped Kitchen where we serve nutritious Breakfast and Lunch.
Our Center is completely ADA compliant, enabling us to provide quality care for consumers with a variety of needs.
We operate a 12-hour day (6:30a-6:30p), to accommodate working caregivers, but you are not required to use all of it. At Family Matters, we recognize the needs of the caregiver as well as the client.
Our Staff
The direct care staff at Family Matters has been hand selected by the owners. The 4-1 client to staff ratio ensures safety and attention to all in our care. All of our staff is CPR and First-Aid Certified. We have two staff members certified in medication administration, under the supervision of an LPN, Toni Kelly, co-owner and a Certified Dementia Practitioner.
In the mornings, at your arrival, Renee, our Program Specialist, along with Pam, Michele, and LaMonica, will welcome you. Since we do operate on the afore mentioned 12-hour day, we have staggered shifts, and our program and activity assistants, Amanda, Brynn, Joanne, Shannon and Toni bring their high energy and enthusiasm thru the course of the day.
Our Kitchen Manager, Ann, is Serve Safe Certified, and brings a well-rounded understanding of nutrition to the Center. Jessica, our Assistant Activity Director is homegrown, having “come-up through the ranks”, and is well versed in keeping all our clients actively engaged throughout the day. TV is not an option! Our Activity Director, Diane, who is also a Registered Music Therapist, fills the room with her lively musical talents. Her personality and joyful nature help to lift our moods and soothe our souls.
To supplement these professionals, we incorporate a group of outside agencies to provide Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Podiatry care, Intergenerational Therapy, and Hairdressing services.
The caring and dedication of our staff are what truly sets us apart from the rest – Why settle when you can select?
